If you read my intro post here are the pictures of the 3 machines I have. I'm a beginner so many of my issues could be down to lack of skills!! None of the machines seem to work well yet. I own the Sip 105 and have spent time upgrading it. Brace on roller, curtain liner and full separately fitted 24v PSU with relay motor supply modification but it's still rubbish. Arc is never constant? The other machines are borrowed but need work too as they have not been in use for years. The 120 looks to have a better motor and feed set up but the pot is broken so the speed can't be slowed down. Can anyone tell me how to bypass the pot on the PCB and maybe fit a new motor speed controller?
The 170 seems a better quality machine inside with euro torch but the feed is still poor. Not sure if the liner is plastic or metal in that but to start with I've made a roller brace. Also can't work out how the torch line disconnects? I bought a co2 gas cylinder locally. Auto mask is a Clarke one but I struggle to see my welding pool possibly due to the mask switching on off as the arc goes on off all the time.
I'm building a CX500 cafe racer and trying to weld the blasted frame not very successfully.
