SIP spot welding shroud

Hi,
Am new here and relatively new to mig welding so please excuse my ignorance
I have just recieved my new (well, new to me!) SIP handymig welder that I bought to do some little welding jobs on me motor.
I was having a little look around ebay and found a spot welding shroud to fit all the small SIP mig welders.
So, does this mean that if I buy one of these I can spot weld with my welder?

I think it's a slightly extended shroud with a cut out each side, they say spot weld but i think they mean plug weld, which involves drilling/punching a hole on overlap panels (top one) then welding through the hole to the bottom panel thus creating a plug weld or spot weld if you like.

you can do it ok without, it's probably the easiest weld to do, when the settings on the welder are right

Spot weld shrouds work reasonably well on good quality MIG sets with spot timers, but not sure if they are likely to be that effective on Chinese made sets without timers?

I only paid 40 pound delivered for the welder so I presume it's cheap & chinese! Not a problem then, I will drill holes in the new wing and weld through to the bottom panel.

If it's a SIP it should be Italian (thought that doesn't mean they aren't built in China these days). Like most things, SIP's old stuff was better then the latest kit.

those shrouds are made that way just to keep the torch steady on the workpiece
