Still hunting for my first MIG. Ebay prices seem to go far too high for second hand MIGs for me. I was hoping to spend up to c. £85, but anything half decent seems to go for more than this plus postage. For c. £165 you can get a new SIP/Cosmo 130 amp DP welder or a Clarke 100/105EN. I will be welding my Land Rover and 130 amps should (just) be enough. But, which is the better buy? I'm thinking if the Clarke is better quality, but lower amps this might be best in the long run, but probably too low amperage for Land Rover welding? I read the guide on hobby mig buys, and SIPs appear to be less reliable, but you do get a lot more amps for your money. Any advice? Thanks in advance.
