SIP bandsaw in Hampshire

There is a SIP bandsaw going cheap (Currently £30 with 1 bid and 1 day left to run, ends Friday 18th Dec 11 AM) in Hampshire if anyone is interested.

Nothing to do with me, it came up on a search and I was considering bidding on it (Although I live in North Wales my office is in Worthing so I could collect it at some point, but decided it wasn't worth the hassle...)

Generic 6x4. Will probably make 60-80 quid In the end. Great if someone has taken the time to get it running true but can be a game of trial and Erra if not as I know all to well with mine. In standard form they are abit naff but it doesn't cost much to make them brilliant tools. The floppy legs and flimsy motor plate are defo the first things worth addressing.

I agree with Richard, these are nice little machines but need a bit of skill and patience to make them run accurately, the flimsy sheet metal legs are designed to be able to pack the saw into a cardboard box for easy transporting and there's also no end of these saws sold under no end of different names, if you want a nice little Silent saw for limited work they are just right, mine was only £20.00 locally but it's had a good few hours spent on it to make it a good tool.

Mine was free and completely stripped down and left in the rain for years. I spent a lot of time building it then more time fettling it then more time (and money) modifying it. It's just not a generic 6x4 any more.

Well I didn't intend this to be a discussion on what it actually is, I think there is enough info out there as to what their strengths and weaknesses are.

It was just intended to alert someone to the item, I thought if there wasn't much interest and someone got it for £50 it wouldn't have been a bad buy for someone local. (It wouldn't have cost me anything to collect as I would be driving that way anyway but I couldn't be bothered arranging for them to hold on to it for me).
