Hello all and Congrats on such a wealth of information being assembled.
I just bought the welder in the heading and inherited someone else's attempt at upgrading the wire drive.
I am slowly getting my head around the circuit and have already found the pcb transformer has blown.
I'm just going to run wires to a small chassis mount unit after removing the old one.
Then I'll sink my teeth into some of the mods after I get it running.
Any way ... my question is why do they put a thermostat in the trigger line which just completes
the small 12 volt transformer rectifier circuit for the relay that controls the 240 volt system ?
