I have owned a Sip 150 for many years and by hook or by crook completed some car restorations and other projects, swearing, tweaking wire feed and clearing up birds nests as I went. It finally has become un-useable, so while scouring the net for a soloution I came across this fine forum and a history of mods for making these machines more useable. Here are my efforts so far:
Wire feed brace

and I've made an attempt at adding an additional transformer for the wire feed motor. I had the idea of moving the plug cable over:

...so that it would make space to fit the extra transformer in:

I got the tranformer from here:

And a bridge rectifier from maplin (KBPC2501):

but it's not the transformer is not the same as I've seen other people use:

will this transformer be useable?
