i have a sip 150, about 5 years old and i went to weld the other day and it wouldnt zap, wire feed is working ok.
i was wondering if the blue relay on the pcb powers the zap or wire feed, it looks a bit burnt.
i changed that relay with a heavier solid state one for nothing, soldered it up, put the board back in and it was still the same.
this might sound silly but it was just the earth cable.
i am going to upgrade the cable soon, at the moment its just twisted around the terminal and the terminal as well thick cable in the machine smoke whenever i weld more than 1" on full amps.
interesting stuff on the net but while trouble shooting, i wasnt aware of the mods out there, except for the mod with the bracing between the rollers wich i did when i first bought the machine by picking up a scrap on the ground, drilling it and screwing it on.
