SIP 130 broken help

Hello Folks new to this so be gentle
Whilst welding today my wire stopped feeding through torch upon investigation the covered cable from the welder to the torch had come adrift and the liner was kinked and open fixed that bit by cutting the liner back but the heavy black cable is not attached to anything can someone confirm if the black cable should be attached to the brass bit with the ferrule or can i solder it /jubilee clip it on as i cant get the cxrimp back over the black cable and the brass bit. Ithink ive attached a picture but who knows

Yes, the cable is supposed to be crimped to the brass part with the ferrule.

A jubilee clip will work fine. This is a common problem with SIPs as it will come loose if you pull the torch.
