hi new to this site ive got one of these welders i want to put a 5kg reel of wire on it what do need to do it before i can and also it struggles pulling the wire on the rollers. and whats the max thicknes of steel i can weld with this? i want to use it for 3mm box will it be up to the job?

Is the case big enough for a 5kg reel? If not then you may have to cobble together some sort of external feeder on the back.
What is the 3mm box to be used for? If it's structural then you'll struggle but with the correct prep on the joints you'll probably just about get away with it.

Joe,
there should be a couple of bobbins that go inside the 5kg reel so it sits on the spindle. If you have the picture telling you which way the wire should feed ignore it and have the wire feeding from the bottom of the reel make sure the tension works on the spindle bobbin as the inertia of the reel can unwind the wire when the feed stops

3mm is pushing it, V prep the joints and you may have to weave

have you looked at all the other SIP mods there are a few - wire liner rather than the plastic one and the brace over the tension device help no end.
