Silvering

Evening all, hopefully someone can help. I'm looking for a company that does silvering. I saw it done on car restoration program (salvage hunters classic cars) where they had a delicate rear door handle off an old Volvo I think that was too bad to re chrome. Instead the part was prepped with standard body filler then appeared to be dipped the sprayed to give a finish identical to chrome plating in appearance.
Anyone know the company or one that offers this service? Ideally close to leeds area but the part can be posted anywhere.

There are a good few people doing Tonka and similar toy restorations on GT. They use chrome powder coating. The process is to start with media blasting, fill deep pits with JB Weld (very expensive in large quantities. A long time ago, I saw someone using a proper heat-resistant filler. I think it was a Wurth product), sand, coat with powder primer, sand again, coat with chrome powder coat. It might even be possible to powder clear coat over the chrome. Might be worth investigating as you could do all the prep work yourself and only use the powdercoater's facilities when required.

I looked into this some time ago and finally settled on a particular brand which consistently appeared to be the most authentic:

Never did buy any. It's difficult to find here and pretty expensive to boot. Anyhow, thought I'd give it a mention anyway.
