Just looking for some advice what others think is acceptable. I'm fixing the sills on my classic. There rust on the inner see attached picture. I've went ahead and cut the outer skin of which shows the inner section of the outer sill. I would have to cut a section out the bottom to gain access to the rust or should I leave it and spray a load of wax in the holes? Both sides are the same.

My only concern is cutting into that next portion is a ton of welding to repair
if it cleans up well , and it looks like it will , why on earth would you cut into it
Do you not see the first photo. That's the one I was talking about.
lower seam on those two sections ??/ give it a blowout with a long nozle on an air line ,,, just looks like surface rust , tap the outside with a screwdriver ,,, acf willl kill that dead

Comes down to how good a job you want to do I guess... the large chunks suggest quite a bit of thickness may have been lost...maybe drill a test hole here and there to check.

The large chunks on the inside seems to have broken off from the inner sill. The outer sill is solid and to get to that rust I'd either have to cut out the inner from the floorpan side or cut a section out of the outer sill side.
I've already replaced the boot floor, chassis legs and rear panel. So I'd like to do as good of job as possible. I'll be keeping the car as plan on doing a full underside restoration and respray the engine bay once I get the metal work finished.
