Silicon bronze tig rods

Which ones (grade?) for repairing teeth on a cast iron gear?
Also...is a silicon bronze rod for gas just the same as a tig one?

Probably. The common flavours of oxyfuel brazing wires are often called siliconbronze and while they contain a little silicon are about 40% zinc... the zinc volatises/boils off with TIG and makes a right mess. The designation is C2 (sifbronze #1) or C5 for the nickel bearing flavour (sifbronze #2) and they're often (or at least used to be) tagged with a splodge of paint kinda like tungstens are

Silicon 'bronze' TIG wire is totally different being copper with a little Si and manganese, designation is C9 although they're often sold under trade...

The C2/C9 distinction would appear to be important.
