horrible stuff. moss/weeds grow out of it as well as deteriorating rather quickly for my liking.
had the stuff put in the 1st time we had pavings installed about 10 or less years ago the stuff just washed out.
so 2 years ago we had it done again.all ground out a fresh setting sand put in.
redid the monty merical slab moss wouldn't come out so I had to use my swirly pressure washer cleaner.
once cleaned I put on sika sealer
some old sand just wash out so bought some sika sand ,fill the holes but before that I cleaned the old sand out and that is when I notice how soft the old sand is.
after I've fill in some holes in and thought there's must be some better stuff to use than this lazy mans way.
yes it was wetted and pressed down well the last time because I watched them do it.

There is a better way and that's with a mortar mix but it'll take you or whoever you're paying 5 times as long to do it!

Our big patio has been done a couple of times with setting sand and it is kak. I laid a smaller patio at the top of the front garden and old school mortar pointed. Never shifted.

The big patio needs doing but i'm not sure if I have the time and/or willpower to mortar point it. I'm on the hunt for a decent resin(?) product similar to what they do the city centre fancy setts with.

silica sand is best mixed with cement and pointed properly

if you just mix it and fill it dry your wasting your time same as most of the dry mix and fill the pavers
