Siemens heating controller

I have been asked to look at a siemens heating controller. I don't know which model yet. Its the digital box that sits on the wall and controls the oil heating boiler outside. The boiler seems not to be responding when for instance the boost button is pressed. The boiler has been recently serviced and its not too old.


Any ideas ?

Is it a wireless controller?, maybe a low battery or a problem with the receiver at the boiler.

maybe the type that needs pairing and has become unpaired due to low battery as mentioned above

If its the wired type I think they are mostly a universal fitting so if the box is duff its a five minute job to swap. I had a Seimens one that I replaced with a Horstman. Both used the same back plate and the relays switched the same terminals.

Turns out not to have been the controller at all. The motor that spins the fan is sticking, when the controller turns the burner on it sticks and appears to be dead, if i spin the fan with a screwdriver it spins up and the burner fires.

Sounds like the motor capacitor.

Thanks waddycall, i stripped the whole thing down and it turns out to be a motorshaft bearing locked solid, i don't know how the bearing housing or shaft aren't wrecked. A new bearing will hopefully solve the problems.
