sidestand extension for bike

I parked my new bike at my mates the other day and caught it as the stand dug into soft ground.
Next day at work I codged this together.

Seems to do the job, I was going to weld it on but thought I would try it bolted first.
Called it Fatfoot .
I took the precaution of bending the tios up slightly.

Had the same problem myself,i got a free one out of a bike mag.just a hard piece of plastic you can keep in your pocket untill needed.
Sort of a hard beer mat,if you know what i mean.

Does it tuck in under the swinging arm so you don't catch your shin/calf on the toenails?

Nice one chunko I use a freshly emptied tinny if i find myself in a field, as it generally means I not going to be riding it for acouple of days

Having saidthat I cut a knuckle duster out of abit of stainless to do this job, must dig it out

Meanwhile off to wales friday, to do The Dragon Rally as it happens

A mate of mine made a side stand extension which looked like a duck's webbed foot, after this was pointed out he welded in the details and painted it a the correct colours for a mallard or some other duck's (I can not remember the exact species) foot. Darned sight classier than the usual crushed beer can, might have pictures somewhere but it was over twenty years ago.

I have a plastic pad that you attach to the corner steadies of a caravan I found lying around that I keep to go under the sidestand on soft ground.

Iv owned my MT for a while and really need to allocate some time and money to get it through its test. That is once my new landy goes through its test first!
