Morning all. I have just bought myself a second hand gas/gas less welder as above. It seems to have been mullered a bit in terms of its shroud and tips. I have managed to establish that the tips are M5 and 0.8 for the gasless wires but I'm not sure about the shrouds. The one that came off was a push fit...very tight, although there is a threaded section of the nozzle that suggests it should be threaded. Does it really matter which or should it only have one or the other? Thanks for any help.

Normally there is what appears to be a very coarse thread where the shroud fits. This should have a spring wound into it, the shroud itself is a push-fit on this spring.
In practice it helps to fit and remove the shroud with a twisting action, IIRC anticlockwise in both cases otherwise the spring opens up to grip the shroud more tightly.
