Shroud Shape

Hi guys

I am new to this thread and have what you might see as a basic question.

Basically i would like to know what effect the shroud has on the performance of he welding set.

I have a Cebora Pocket turbo 130

it came with a straight shroud and the only replacemnts i can find are conical. will this have an effect

any help would be greatly appreciated

hi mate i have just sold my cebora turbo 130 but any parts i needed it was easier to use weldequip on here than even try local shops as they most probably wont have what you want. Generally he will have them to your door in 2days, No flies on him

Straight shrouds give better gas coverage but can cause problems with access and visibility. Most people use a conical shroud without any problems whatsoever

Yep, conical is easier to squeeze in tiny spaces...................don't even think about it lads!

True Paulie! but you will notice it soon enough when the shroud get's clogged up...the welds will have bubbles in them due to the lack of shielding gas....or.... all the muck falls out in the middle of your weld!! aaaaaargh!
That's probably why i have a tap tic....(i keep tapping the torch on the workbench to get the spatter out)
But i'm getting treated for that by Dr Robotstar, professional weld psychiatrist...
