Shroud and Tip relationship?

I have just fitted a new swan neck and tip on my new rusty old 100E Mk2 and this is the result:

1) Have Clarke changed the dimensions of these things?
2) Will a new shroud fix the problem or is the swan neck or tip of the wrong size?
3) What should the correct relationship be? flush? sub-flush?

Any help is much appreciated.

It should be flush or just under............might be worth getting a new shroud as it might well be longer.

I was hoping someone could give me the length of a new shroud (or the one they have) before I buy one as I keep buying bits and have not actually managed a single weld yet :-(

The swan neck I bought (in a Clarke blister pack) is longer from the shroud thread to the end than the old one that came with the welder. The reason I bought the neck is because the new tips I got did not want to screw easily into the old neck... At this rate I will work my way back down to the welder and finally the 3 pin plug!! ;-))

Thing is, I don't know if the old one is original or not as it is second (third, fourth?) hand...

Just measured the shroud on 151TE, it's 45mm overall

My one is only 37mm! I'll buy a new one then.

One of the previous owners must have changed the swan neck or maybe Clarke have changed the design.

I think Clarke and sealey and sip shrouds are interchangeable (thread size ) but are different lengths.....wouldn't be the first time i'm wrong though

I picked up a Tweco shoud for my MiniMIG gun. Clarke copied the Tweco design. It screws right on but is short. Same for the Lincoln shroud.

Probably not a Clarke shroud; pick one up they are not expensive.

So far:
Wire liner, swan neck liner, swan neck, tips, shroud.
Mini gas regulator + 2 disposable bottles - RETURNED!
Proper Argon twin gauge reg + 1 large bottle of Argon mix + gas pipe adaptor. Oh and Mask and gloves.

Fingers crossed...
