Over the last few days to gain more space i decided to use some unistrut off cuts and 3 450mm cant arms to male a shelf over my other bench, I started off with this...

Which i added a usefull shelf to for some of the boxes under the bench and then i had room for the engines to go under out of the way..

The strange looking trapdoor in the middle is for my chop saw to sit in so it is flush with the left and right hand sides ...

And if i need more space for working on a car i built the bench to fold down..

After a few spare days and a bit of moving shelves about i managed to do the other side of the garage and get an extra bit of space, I really should get some work done now so it is time to finish my welding bench i started, It's not big but it does the job ...i mean the bench

@Olderisbetter In your penultimate post, what are the two engines under the bench from? Just nosiness on my part......

@slim_boy_fat The engines are all A series variants, There is a mini engine and box and the others are MG 1100, Sprite 948 and Moggy 1100.

You should be proud of that bench, I really like clever solutions like that. I might be nicking the trapdoor idea for my chop saw....

It came from years of working on a crappy bench that was the right height till i put the saw on and then having to cut long timber which used to drop away as i cut it, My new plan is to build a catch box below with a vac in the side to stop all the sawdust and a space below to house the saw, One day at a time ....
