Should I sell my SIP Migmate 170 Dual Purpose?

Hello, I am new to this forum - it looks like a great resource!

I had a SIP 130 amp welder, which was used little - I built a car chassis a few years back and that was about it. I quit using it because it became a bit temperamental.

Earlier this year I got hold of an almost new SIP Migmate 170 dual Purpose welder (guy owned me a balance £'s on a Land Rover parts deal).

I now have a fair bit of welding to do on various projects and finally got around to selling the SIP 130 (loads of calls through Gumtree and got my price). I want to switch to the MIG from my trusty old stick welder.

So, the question is - should I sell the Migmate and get something else, or is it a good welder?

Given how easy it was to sell the SIP 130, I don't think I will have any bother shifting the Migmate.

Any help or advice welcome....

SIP are not the favourite machine around but in fairness many people are using them, although with varied success I should think.

Why not have a practice with it and see how it goes, if it works ok then your answer is keep it, if not...back to Gumtree
