Should I get a sip T90p?.

I want to convert a van into a camper van which will involve lots of welding.I have seen the T90p at Halfords and it seems to be at the right price.What I really need to know is:Will it be reliable and up to the job,what is the general opinion of this model in particular,and SIP products in general?.FELIXX.

SIP migs have a very poor reputation on here for being very hard to set up right and they take a lot of adjustment constantly to keep them working. I have never had one i must say but i do value the opinion of a few on here. I have a small clarke and find that works well as do a few others. don't forget to budget for gas etc the disposables give about 10 min of welding

A.s a user of various SIP welders all i can say mine works fine, its had a proper steel torch liner a bit strapping from the parts bin( midden under the bench) and i eventually did the separate transformer mod.

i can lay down nice smooth non stuttery beads of weld.

So the welder was cheap and built down to a price i dont mind tinkering with stuff
Have a look at the SIP Mods threads-
If your not the sort of person that can do that sort of things then avoid.
If you r the sort of person that is going to moan that you have to do all this stuff and why cant they manufacture stuff properly then avoid( avoid anything under £500 then)

If your lucky can usually pick up a 130 with "wire feed problems" for next to nowt on Ebay, gumtree and the like.
