Shot peening ?

Is there any specialist that undertakes work such as shot peening of conrods , crankshafts and other highly stressed engine components ? I don't mean someone who knocks paint off fireplaces and gates etc . But someone who knows what they are at. Also would anyone know how much getting nitriding done costs roughly ? There was a place local to me in dublin but it appears to have shut up shop.

There's bound to be a few in your area. I would start by ringing your local engine builders and asking who they use.
