Shielding Gas for TIG and MIG

Is it possible to use the same gas for both welders if mainly welding steel.
So therefore having one bottle and gauge but maybe different hoses to connect.

generally tig needs 100% argon
and mild steel needs argon/co2 mix
however........................

..........if you use pure argon for mig, you'll end up with horrible tall welds and if you use mix for tig you'll most likely ruin the tungsten and the weld.

I think I will start with the TIG setup and leave the gasless MIG as is if I can get the wire feed going.
