Sheet steel grades

[Spark plug]

I need to get some little plates laser cut in thicknesses from 0.9 to 3mm, these will be subject to a little bit of a hard life and wear, what would be the toughest sheet that the laser cutters would have on the shelf?

my initial thought was 316 but just wondered if there was a better option readily available?

For the slightly thicker bits Hardox is available down to 2mm but depending on what they do regularly would depend what’s in stock I suppose.

not sure on the application but 0.9mm anything isn’t going to be hugely tough I wouldn’t think.

I’m not talking about digger buckets tough, just want to use something a bit better than hot rolled mild if I can and wondered what was considered standard stock.
