I like the idea of cordless for obvious reasons but I am lured by the prospect of the corded tool having 2.5mm cutting capacity.

Used the second one when I did the Messerschmitt, handy tool. Needs a bit of wd40 or similar on alu to stop it building up on the cutting edge

Ive the bosch version of the second one , only the 3.2 mm version its got its uses , but its not the be all ,, ive a gn2.0 I use more ,, but most of the time I use a 12 inch edwards guillotine , its worth its weight in gold [ and grinder discs] ,, dont rule out a bench knife either they are handy bits of kit .

Merry tools are the same people as Aim tools who I got my bench shears from and customer service was excellent.

Slightly cheaper on their site, they have quite a few variations of nibblers too, going upto 4mm.

If the dewalt is anything like a drill attach nibbler, it will be a pain to use. I imagine much nicer having a purpose built tool, at that price anyway!

I have a really old version of the second one its very good

I've the bosch version of the second tool which is great for up to 1mm in steel (1.2 at a push)
It's a great tool and I use it a lot.

I also have a very old Black and Decker version that's a monster.
It's supposed to cut up to 2mm mild steel, but cutting thick stuff with a shear is a pain as the steel is too stiff to curl so it doesn't do curves at all well.

If I'm cutting tight curves with them, I do a first cut say 10mm oversize and then the final cut to size.
You can get a really accurate cut that way.

For straight stuff you can't beat the Edwards guillotine, I've one of them as well, must be a NI thing.
