with winter fast approaching, my house project done, over the last 3 years, its now time to venture back in to the shed.
3 years ago we bought an old farm house and some ground, plan do up barns, do up house live happily ever after....anyway plan changed, built shed of my dreams, well warwick garages did, superb it is too, filled it with house contents, pulled down old shed, moved into a caravan. While the house was rebuilt.
As im sure any ones knows who has done a house budgets get stretched, things take longer than expected etc, so its finally time for shedding and another trip to he tip to get rest of house junk out.
So insulation, and log burners....i was thinking 50 mm king span 1 inch air gap, and ply line. But the cost......do i insulste roof only, boards on shed walls 31mm thick, plus 6 mm ply lining. Opinions....dont want to end up with condensation. Or not insulate and just throw more logs on the log burner, ive got but not fitted yet. (Note I bought logs direct from the forest on a logging waggon, its a big pile, cutting them up keeps me warm)
Now log butner manual says 600 mm from anything flamable...all the wasted space, was thinking of putting up a sheet of fire rated board modern equivelant to asbestos, 2 inch air gap and a few blocks to protect shed and reduce the 600mm a bit. What do others think. This is the shed of my dreams dont want to burn it down?..
