I just got 50 ltrs of genuine creosote 25 quid a 25 ltr drum guy has more but ive got enough
creosote is a great preservative but i dont know if id like the smell of it in my back garden every time i went out and i dont mind the smell of it.thats the gear seen it on ebay too actually but that price is better mrs aint keen on me doing the new fence in it and old oil though
I'm a professional and got some they didn't ask what profession I was inI can also confirm proper real coal tar creosote is still available - label says "professional supply and use only"...
I'm theoretically a "professional" so I can buy it over the counter.
that's because the oil soaks in to the woodNot all water based stuff is carp mind. The Weathershield that Kent uses, has acrylic resin in it. Need steel wool to get it of yer hands when dry.
It sits on walls getting a pounding from rain for years. Instead of using that thin red water stuff on the fence, I fired a half gallon of red oxide, mixed with some linseed oil, varnish and white spirit to thin.
5 years and still good.
