Shear nut recommendations

Can anyone recommend a brand/manufacturer of shear nuts? The Hafren ones I bought are too easy to undo with locking pliers. I've seen a few YouTube videos where the shear nuts seem to work really well, so obviously the shape of the ones I bought isn't optimal & there's better shaped ones out there that are harder to grip onto.

My workshop was in a horrible mess today but I recorded a short clip of me doing one up, then easily undoing it.

Put some heavy duty thread locker such as Loctite on the threads where the shear nut goes. though shear nuts are sort of removable whatever you do. Either cutting the excess stud off and riveting it over, or a blob of weld is more permanent.

The easy solution to that is to first weld a short piece of tube to the square washer so that it stops where the nut bit of shear nut starts, that way you can still get a spanner on the nut to shear it but then you can't get the mole grips on to undo.

It looks like your method of tightening is designed to snap the nut off by inertia rather than actually reaching the correct torque.

Could use a thicker plate/collar and counter bore so only the tapered portion of the nut is left, preventing access to the bigger flat portion.
