Sharpening Guillotine Blades

Hi folks, I need to sharpen the blades on my keetona treadle guillotine - something around 1m long each.

Is this something I can do myself? If so - how? If not, anyone know where I can get it done in the South?

Hello Al,

I doubt if you could grind them accurately enough, unless of course, you have a very big surface grinder?

While surface grinders are quite common in engineering works, a grinder with the capacity to do that length might take some finding?

We used to use a company called Freidheim knife services to sharpen plastic/wood cutting blades,it might be worth looking them up if they still exist.

Hi, Allied Tool in Poole sharpen guillotine blades, about 12 quid a foot I think, one of my sub contractors just had some back today while I was there.
