Morning. Ive just acquired a sip autoplus 181dp. I'm currently on a welding course and have a bit of an idea what to do and am almost ready to try the machine out. One thing that puzzles me is connecting the earth clamp. The manual mentions nothing about connecting it.
On the front of the welder there are 3 sockets, a black one labeled Negative then a red one marked Torch and another red one marked Positive. The earth clamp has a black socket on it so i assumed that the earth goes into the the negative socket and the two red sockets connect together. However if you google a photo of the welder, any pics of it show the red Torch socket connected to the black Negative socket, leaving the red Positive socket free for the earth clamp. Does this sound reasonable? Should the earth clamp plug into a different coloured socket? Or have i got it all completely wrong?
