So I've finally acquired a rent free bottle of argoshield and moved away from out of date fire extinguishers.
The new gas welds like it should and its nice to be back welding with proper gas.
I've also treated myself to a new reg and new peashooter gauge as I don't want to use any more precious gas than needed.
I was never that concerned when setting the CO2, sort of played it by ear, could never tell what flowrate the gauge was showing anyway. Tried to keep it fairly low but not too bothered as an extinguisher lasted ages anyway.
So playing with the new gauges and gas, I'm down to an indicated 4lpm with no noticible issues. Seems very low compared with most information I've read.
Is a low flow rate likly to cause unseen or unfelt issues? Or should I just be thankful it's working frugally. Or is this sort of flow actually pretty normal? Maybe I could go lower!
Fairly big shroud, MB25 I think, as fitted to 200A plus machines.
Cheers
