Selling things at ,an autojumble

Does anyone, have any tips or advice, for selling things at an autojumble?
I am having a clear out and have a pile of body panels, from back in the days, when I used to weld up cars. Plus a lot of random odds and ends.
I thought a stall at an autojumble, would possibly be better/ easier than putting them on ,FB marketplace. Still have to deal with public, but at least it will be directly face to face.

I think the issue you will find is have you one locally? And the chance of meeting someone who needs the exact bit you need are slim. I have travelled all the way to Newark one of the biggest and bought nothing. Went to one with about 12 stalls and got exactly what I wanted. Its a chance you take.
The good / rare stuff I would sell on line Owners groups on Facebook etc and eBay the odds and ends sell cheaply at an Autojumble

I guess one down side to setting up a stall at an auto jumble is you potentially have a lot of setting up work for very little return, if nobody is looking for what you have on that day.

The only thing with selling body panels online is that they're a pain to pack and send.

My only suggestion would be to put prices on the stuff. I'd much rather see something labelled than have to ask.

There is one this coming weekend, at grampian transport museum. About an hour away. My plan was to stick on some masking tape, with what panel is for and price. Costs £20 for a stall. Lay panels out on a tarpaulin. Folding table for small bits.
Worst case , it will be a day out and I buy other stuff!

Its worth going, go with an open mind we find its worth going for consumables etc as so much cheaper. I feel its worth mentioning it on social media as many people won't even know its on. We have a local one Merebrow on this Sunday but I still mention it to people who didn't know about it.

Selling most things online is the way forward.
Big panels are an exception, some couriers were refusing to take them due to high risk of damage.

have a friend with simply tons of Norton Commando gear, like 20 engines and just tons of frames with reg doc's etc etc....
he tried the jumbles at least 3 times and got fed up with it.....Camping Packing and unloading twice.....
Plus all the organisation carp.....
In the end did it all in with FaceBook and owners clubs.....PS didn't have to join the clubs as he had stuff to sell.....

Our experience as autojumblers in the past is that you either need to wire small parts down or be prepared to watch any small stuff like a hawk. I had hundreds of quality taps and dies for sale at a tiny fraction of the new price, on totting up at the end of the event I reckon one item was stolen for every one I sold. from talking to other stallholders, our experience is by no means unique. Amongst the (mostly) decent punters, sadly, there are some real scumbags.

If you have a mate with you doing the same thing it's better as one can manage the stall while the other has a walk around.

Mate of mine does car boot sales, and even with most stuff at 50p or a quid there are still lots of sticky fingered characters having away with stuff at any opportunity.

I used to do one boat jumble a year with a mate, we would clear out my yard & his storage unit & have a good laugh. Usually did quite well.
If Auto jumbles are anything like boat jumbles i suspect they have become infested with dealers doing the circuit, prices went up number of stalls went down. Punters nicking stuff were not the problem rather it was the dealers trying to get into your van before the wheels had stopped rolling as you arrived.
Some were outright pushy to the point of rudeness & had to be told to "Go forth & multiply" only in fewer words.
Havent done one for over ten years now.
Worth going if only to clear out, Dealers are always looking for stock!

you would be far better off paying your 20.00 on a day out and sell elsewhere

if you do go print a panel list out and have another print out saying more panels available have a few on the stall leave rest in van

dealers are always at unloading to get what they can first and then display it on there stalls on the same day
