Self centering vices, why?

I have a surfeit of drill vices and am trying to decide which ones are to go. The first victim may be a Lorantco CV2 self centering vice. Apart from doing repeat work on a pillar drill, what advantages do they have over a normal drill vice? I'm not even they have that advantage over a standard vice anyway.

Does the self centering screw also make for a quicker jaw closing ? Over many thousands of operations the time saving could be considerble .

An advantage is the center of a part will always be in roughtly the same place for any size part. A useful feature if your wanting holes on the center line, the vice can remain bolted down.
Also useful for lathe milling vices for the same reason.
