Hi there it was out with the arc welder this weekend to make some security doors for a game food unit.
The unit is an old MOD spot so nice strong bars on the windows then pants door so some little twoker went in through the door TWICE in one week. An accomplishment Sean's as how the whole site is supposed t have CCTV and patrols at night. There must have been something interesting on TV on the night in question. So the gates 25x25x3 box section with 12mm bars and three pieces of 75x6 flat across the gates to strengthen and to take the hinges and bolts. Back to my mates barn to weld them up. (After moving piles of stuff that's been there since Noah was a lad). First task was to make somewhere level to weld. This was done with two workmates with planks of wood in them leveled up with a spirit level. (See pics). Got the frames made up and some bars in one of them. Will post more pics as they progress.
P.S. What a difference proper rods make ditched the MM ones and got some Murex 2.5 Zodians.
