I have managed to get one of these for my lad. It is based mechanically on the vw golf mk5 apparently. Anyway, I always give new to us cars a once over to include a service. And boy did it need it. Both air filter and pollen filter were chocked with muck. So I have decided to do the fuel filter. It is located near the tank and has two feeds and an outlet. The pipes look like quick disconnects but it is difficult to work out how these work. On my LDV(diesel) you just squeeze the tabs and they pull off and seal. But these don't seem to be that type. Anybody able to enlighten me please?

It must be something like that. I have the new filter its just that the actual connectors don't seem to have any obvious push bits to them I tried youtube last night and it seems you have to use a small implement to push the release as it is flush so I will have a relook if it stops raining/snowing!!
Well I got the filter off but it was a b****r. The retaining screw's head for the holder was rusted and had to be drilled and the connections were a nightmare. There was a flush fitting piece you pushed and then you pulled the connection. The only problem was the filter fitted was a strange one. It was basically a Ali cylinder with 3 connections. Two at the input end and one at the outlet. The problem was that the main feed one from the tank fed into the centre of the filter thru a removable steel adaptor that fitted to and was held in position by a big spring stainless clip. These you have to transfer over to the new filter. Of course being steel and as it had never been changed there was a fair bit of rust on it and the "pulling the connection" from the pipe part was difficult due to access and the rust and interaction between mild steel, Ali and stainless plus roadmuck did not help. Anyway I got it off even though the access was murder with the back jacked up and the wheel off as it is right alongside the fuel tank and inner sill. The weather was not nice too! God I love working on cars. Oh for a 4 post lift! Even getting the front jacked up was a nightmare as you cannot get a jack under the front or in from the side as these modern cars are so low. So it was driven up onto 2x4 at the front as you cannot even use the ramps as the front spoiler does not allow any clearance! Has anybody come across this type of filter before?
