Hi all im new. Need a welder for welding a few things on my mini. Just wonder if the welder in the title is any good.
Any one got one of these. Is it good ?

True enough there is the search forums gizmo, but most questions have been asked before and generally get the same answer when they were asked by someone different 3 weeks ago. Nobody seems to mind answering again. As you say the search gizmo is a handy tool, just type in a key word and press the button and presto, out pops loads of threads with you keyword in them

A Clarke 135 would be a safe buy for mini restoration on a budget. Beware the really cheap welders - they can be a real pain, need constant adjustment, and won't flatter your technique.
I would say to leave this one well alone for many reasons!!
Siegen are the even more budget subsidiary of Sealey Tools.
The duty cycle is a mere 20% @ 80amps (if ur lucky) so for your landy chassis would be struggling and cutting out frequently.
You could do with at least a fan cooled 160amp which shouldn't break the bank. The red Sealey or Clarke ones are better value for money IMO.

problem is with welding equipment, you get what you pay for
A better salesman than me if they did! 
'Recommended' prices are plucked out of thin air by manufacturers, we dealers get a discount from that RRP & get whatever we can for the stuff! If everybody could get RRP on everything I'd have retired last year sometime

Sealey recommended retail roflmao, its all sales chat. they give you an over inflated RRP then tell you they will give you 50% and you think you are getting a bargain. Problem is it often works, same is done with bosch powertools etc. I used to have a sales rep that called that sold various tools when ever i asked him the price of something he used to quote me the RRP then tell me i would get X% off that as if he was doing me a favour, being as i am wise to such things. I told him no one sells at the RRP and to cut the crap and tell me the real price, funny enough now when i ask for the price of something he never tells me the RRP just the best price he can do it for, and I normally say thats to expensive if it was X i would buy it. I normally get the best deal, but there are times i let him charge me slightly over the odds just so he wins the occasional one
