Hello everyone,
I’m new to the forum and to welding.
I’ve borrowed a mates Mighty Mig 190 and there’s an issue with the gas solenoid.
The first issue we had was the gas was coming out of the nozzle without the trigger being pressed. Even with the welder UNPLUGGED the gas would still flow out the nozzle if you opened up the gas valve. Plug it in and you hear the solenoid click and switch it on via the red toggle switch and the solenoid wouldn’t respond to trigger switching.
We replaced the solenoid and the issue is still there but it’s changed somewhat. If the welder is UNPLUGGED from the wall socket it holds gas pressure. Plug it in and you can hear the solenoid click and it releases the gas. Switch it on via the red toggle switch and the solenoid doesn’t respond to the trigger switch. The solenoid seems to be stuck open.
It’s a binzel torch.
Any thoughts???
thanks in advance for the help.
I’ve attached a picture of the wired solenoid
