My uncle has asked me to look at his Sealey 180 V3 but it looks like someone has been in there playing as some of the wiring looks (from the supplied schematic from sealey) to have been messed around with.
One quick question, there is a sort of ferrite ring bolted through the base with red and black wires wound through it numerous times. the red comes from contact 5 on the switch and goes back to the same place and the black comes from the two spades on the big black plastic housing on the PCB. Looking at one of the other threads on here by @mike 109444 it seems that the item is a power relay. Now to me, I would assume that the relay should have at least one red and one black coming from the ferrite ring?
The drawing shows connecting from terminal 5 to terminal 9 on the front panel switch is an item called EMC within a circle, would this be the ferrite ring and if so should the red wire come from one switch contact to another (5 to 9)?
There is also an EMC symbol and the wire from terminal 7 of the switch which goes thru the ferrite and to the relay with the other side of the relay coming from terminal 14 but there is no voltage at the relay wires.
Anyone have any experience with this?
