sdupid tig gas q

I have a scratch start tig/MMA inverter,i just bought it for the arc function,as i am a bit bored at the mo i wondered if i could fire the tig side of it up,i have the torch and all the bits but only CO2 gas.
what would happen if i ran CO2 through it,i just want to see if it works and was worth getting some argon (no good getting argon if the tig side is no good).
twill only be on some scrap so no safety worries involved

Its been asked many times, and the answer is still the same, co2 is no good for tig, it is an active gas and will destroy the tungsten instantly, the only gas suitable for the diyer is pure argon,
