Hello Debs,
Thank you for the link, excellent clip, there is another very similar that I saw on the discovery channel a while ago but they were making oxy bottles,very similar process but they formed the valve collar by spinning the cylinder in a "lathe" then heated the tube neck red hot and rolled it with a tool like a metal spinning roller untill it swaged down to the shape we all know and love, it must also be on a video clip somewhere an hopefully some body will find it for us.

FYI

Big satellite/microwave antennas (ie NOT Sky dishes) are spun too.

It's quite something else to see a 20m wide disc of ally plate belting round and slowly but surely being formed into a dish.

There's a company up the road who do this, I shot some video of the process 10 or so years back. Fascinating!

@ 30 sec see how tightly packed cyls are, no fire breaks, no side blast/separator walls, no sprinkler system, hot climate (so cyls are pre heated), a disaster waiting to happen.
