Screwfix

After learning from another member of the forum that his local Screwfix outlet didn't stock the welding items he needed (even though they're in the catalogue) I assayed to call the freephone number. Blow me down with a feather, but they said that all of them would be delivered, from central depot stock, to my local store by noon the next day! That's even though I called well after 17:00 Hrs. The only minor drawback was that I had to pay by debit/credit card over the phone. Big whoop: I don't normally carry a lot of cash on me these days.

So what am I getting for my £84.62?

A 5Kg reel of 0.8mm gas welding wire
One 0.6 X 0.8 spare wire feed roller
2 of screw on shrouds
10 of M6 X 0.6 tips
10 of M6 X 0.8 tips

and ...

One 810watt 4.5" angle grinder! This one was 'out of stock' at the central depot, but ... computer says "yes" at the outlet! Nice. Go on; give it a try. You know you want to

i will have yo ring them too then, as on the website it says that none of the welding equipment is available in any of my local stores. Mind you i don't need anything yet until i run out of rods

our BOC is cheaper and has the stuff in stock aaaand its a decent make (lincoln wire) screwfix ok for screws

Nah, toolstation does better quality screws and they're cheaper too

depends really, i get discount on most things electrical, plumbing and fastners so for me it works out cheaper there, haven't really compared price of welding stuff though
