While looking for Jacobs chuck removal wedges for another thread, I saw this:

Atlas Craftsman 10/12" Spindle Lock. This spindle lock wedge is used to stop the spindle from turning without locking the back gears. The chuck is removed by placing a wrench on a jaw and turning it off, or your preferred way.

It locks the bull gear, which is a lot better than some methods that lock the back gears.

Might be a useful idea for someone.

Might be a marketing opportunity for someone with a 3D printer.

Useful for open head lathes, which the early Atlases were. You couldn't fit one in a Boxford, for example, but a nice idea.
