Screw Finishes

Commonly screws come either bright zinc plated, or zinc and yellow passivate. Are the zinc + yellow more resistant to corrosion, or is the zinc less "strong" than BZP and the passivation is a way to counter that?

They are all passivated, the bright zinc is just clear passivated as opposed to coloured

There may possibly be some slight differences in finish application method, (I've no clue personally), with regards to stuff being straight dipped, electro-chemically plated etc., but in real world use they all seem just as likely to corrode under suitable conditions. Choice usually depends on application.
