scratch tig torch for dc inverter

i need a wp9v for this inverter

i have the instructions it says i need a wp9v torch for it i have seen this one here

but dont know difference between small dinse and large dinse connectors also the 3/8 bsp connector is for i assume the gas but do i need a special regulator for that as mine is different (it doesnt have the same fitting)

anyway will this do the trick for it is cap size ok etc i really dont know just a beginner and am just getting the hang of mma and mig at moment
to compare the place i got the machine from want 79 quid for it

the dinze is the size of plug. Looks like a small you need to me as for the gas don't know

Not bad, we were quoted £99 for a torch for the same welder from our supplier.

i will get another piccy tomorrow it is locked in the van for the night but nothing more on the bottom just plain blue case

the gas lead goes straight into the bottle. better if you could get a tourch with a solenoid switch, a lot of gas will get wasted with the type you've shown.

have one of these torch'es myself, use it with a telwin inverter. torch will last a life time, not sure of price, could,nt be more than a hundred pounds, maybe matt will have an idea.

you'll need a regulator on top of the bottle, dont rush in anyway, find out all the details. you got a nice machine there, you might as well get the right torch.

I would opt for a bigger torch (WP17), the WP9 gets smoking hot at about 110 amps quite fast. Sure, the WP17 is bulky compared to the WP9, but if you want to use the machine's full potential, the WP9 is not up to the task.

you wont be able to use a torch with a solonoid for the gas with that machine , where are you going to plug the swich into

id alllso go for a wp 17 (as suggested)with the manual gas valve , id give weldequip a pm he will advise and come up with a keen price im sure

will post a pic of my torch next thursday, has a on/off switch for the gas, neat job, only use mine up to 100 amps.

this is gonna be for starting scratch tig and learning with
i dont mind what torch i get as i will then be used to that torch th fella i bought the inverter stated it was a wp9v i needed there are no more connectors on the welder just the '-' and '+' terminals on the front.
a wp9v torch has an electric valve does it? i figured it would be a simple manual gas valve what with the separate connection to the regulator that it comes with.
i take it that tig welding with permanent gas flowing will cost a fair bit to run (gas wise) as i believe tigging is thirsty anyway
i dont know what thickness metal you can go with tig at 100 amps but i will be using it to learn the art rather than joining thick plate (at least i dont think so lol) welder does 5 - 150 amps

I got a wp17 torch from Weldequip. It has a gas valve on the handle, a 35-50 dinse and a 3/8" BSP gas connection at the other end. Send Steve a PM, I'm sure he'll be able to help.
