Talking to someone in the trade today and the word is that light iron will be £5 a tonn by end of this year...A few scrap yards are now not picking up scrap cars even for nothing and will only take them iff you deliver,wheres it going to end?
Any Scrap dealer with half a brain would not sell at those prices and would sit on it till it goes up....iff you go into any yard and the stuff at the bottom of the pile would of been bought at higher prices in the past so unless they unload now then there going to sit on it i reckon..good stuff, will hopefully mean i can pick up some cheap steel to play with

Had a weigh in last week, good clean stuff, not much over 75 quid a tonne. I remember when we were getting 200+ a tonne
Still £480-£500 a tonne new though

To be fair thier economy has stopped dead in its tracks purely because it was a fictional one that was heavily proped up. The explosion is but a small thing in all this but reports were required for the rest of the world most should also be stored under fiction
