Scrap prices

Evening all

I'm looking to get some offcuts of ali and brass for model engineering so will be giving the scrappies a ring round tomorrow.

Anyone know what sort of price per kg they want for these at the moment. I know it's not set in stone, and depends on what mood the scrappy is in, how busy he is, whether he got lucky last night etc but a ball park figure would be good

I haven't bought any metal from a scrappy for a few years. I think I was paying 75P a kilo for ali and was never sure how much they charged for steel, it was a lot less than buying it from a stockholder.
There used to be a great scrapyard in Chertsey, they collected from dunsfold and kingston aerospace, so they had skips of titanium! they moved to the industrial estate just up the road, opposite the big Ferrari importer. I used to buy all my stainless there at one time, first time I went to a stockholder I thought he was taking the ****.
