Scotchbrite for engine parts

I use Green Scotchbrite on cylinder heads (properly cleaned afterwards mind).

You have to watch out for the dust it sheds as well really.

Honda recommended wet and dry for cleaning car cylinder heads at one point iirc. Have used sheets myself on glass with good results.

I just found this in my notes, cant remember where I got it from:

Green: cleaning
Red/Maroon: Very fine 320 grit equiv
Grey: ultra fine 600 grit equiv
White - Norton - non scratch

I'd like to see someone embed anything into ally or steel by finger pressure alone.

TBH anyone who has taken the spark plug out of a plug well on an ally head without first blowing it out has probably dropped 100x as much abrasive (aluminium oxide, groad grit and general dirt) direcly into their combustion chamber as could be shed by rubbing something with scotchbrite.

Basically, if you clean up afterwards it's a non-issue, and not much of an issue even if not IMO.
