Hello.
I've bought a 240v piece of electrical equipment (Car engine block heater, like a kettle element) and it is fitted with a Schuko plug on the 'house' end. It seems, from an AVO, that there is no polarity on the selection of the power pins and that so long as it is wired for earth in the correct manner it can easily be fitted with a UK 3-pin plug instaed. 700 watts so 3-and-a-bit amps, suggesting a 5 amp fuse to ensure it pops nice and early in the event of a fault. RCD protection will be in the form of an adapter in-line.
Can anyone knowledgeable confirm if I am thinking straight? Nt a great deal on the internet ad I'm not willing to trust my own judgement without checking with more experienced minds!
Thanks
Rob
