I asked on another thread about getting a steering head machined up for my prospective trike build, but while investigating I remembered this heavy duty thick wall steel pipe we used to use years ago, to save boring big holes in solid stock.
How does it work? ‘Sched 40’ or whatever? Ratio of diameter to bore? It’s something I’ve never grasped.
Google provides great complicated tables that baffle my brain.
If I wanted something 3” OD, with, say, 1/2” or thicker wall thickness, what would I be asking for?
