Yeah I do, but it's a combination of hereditary and doing too much shooting when I was a teenager without PPE. But it also means I have an excuse for the wife when I forget to do something she asks...

The floor at our cottage has the joists sitting on concrete blocks and packed up with slate to level.

The slate also acts as a DPC (damp proof course) to stop moisture migration and doesn't crush like a bituminous material would.

Planks would be fine without joints then cover complete area with 1/2" plywood fixed with countersunk screws..going nowhere

Mine are 5/8 birch plywood with scaffold board tops.
